Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Larry Duncan's tragic death since it happened, and something that's been weighing on my mind is the involvement of the city sanitation workers. It's troubling to think about how a routine work shift could turn into such a deadly situation. From what I've read, the on-duty workers never expected their day to end with gunfire and a man's life lost.
What's especially curious to me is the escalation process that occurred here. How did a confrontation over what I assume would be a minor issue lead to shots being fired in a crowded district? It's opportunities like this, in understanding what went wrong, that could help prevent future incidents.
Also, I can't believe there’s not much more out there on why the charges against Ryan Johnson were dismissed. Two whole years between the event and the case dismissal, and so many questions still linger.
Sending love to Larry's family as they cope with living in a city that holds such painful memories for them. Anyone else find it odd how these public responsibility roles—like sanitation work—somehow play into this awful event?
I recently came across the devastating case of Larry Duncan and wanted to share my thoughts. It's so tragic to see how an attempt to calm things down cost Larry his life. What really gets to me is how this all unfolded around people just trying to do their jobs—sanitation workers on their regular route, not expecting their night to spiral into chaos and violence. It makes me wonder about the stress and unpredictability they face on streets we might drive by every day without a second thought.
The fact that Larry was known as a peacemaker just makes this entire situation feel even more senseless. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time shouldn't end like this. I hope his family finds some comfort in the support from the community and that Larry's memory as a loving husband and father remains strong.
What do you think the atmosphere is like for the workers now? Do you think this incident will change protocols or awareness in some way?
