Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Obie Hillery's case, and I can't help but focus on the fact that he managed to call the police after being shot so many times. It speaks volumes about his strength and determination to not only survive, but to try to ensure that justice was served. It must have been incredibly hard for his sister, Erica, and the rest of his family, knowing he fought so hard even in his final moments. It's frustrating that there haven't been any updates or suspects identified yet. I really hope someone comes forward with information soon. Hillery's family deserves to have answers and peace. Anyone local might know something that seems small but could be the piece we're missing. Let's keep his story alive and support his family however we can.
Sending prayers and solidarity to everyone who knew him.
I read about Obie Hillery’s case and it’s incredibly distressing to see how a senseless act of violence has torn apart a family and affected the Prichard community. I know many are focused on finding the attackers, but I’m curious about the broader context of safety in that area. Given that residents thought the gunshots were fireworks, it seems like there might be a larger issue with how often they hear gunfire. Is there any ongoing community effort to address this, or has the city's response been mostly focusing on this case alone? My heart goes out to Obie's family and friends. It's so daunting to think that the people who did this are still out there. Hoping for a breakthrough soon.
I’ve been following the case of Obie Hillery, and I just can’t shake off how tragic his story is. It’s been over six years, and yet, it seems like there’s so little progress in finding out who’s responsible. I find it particularly unsettling how the community mistook the gunfire for fireworks. It’s a sobering reminder of how accustomed some neighborhoods have become to the sound of violence, which is so deeply saddening.
Hillery ran his family’s concrete business and stayed clear of trouble—no clubs or gangs, as his sister mentioned. It pains me to see someone who tried to lead a straightforward life be taken so senselessly. It makes you wonder why someone who wasn’t deeply involved in any risky lifestyle was targeted in that way.
Has anyone heard of any recent developments in the case, or community efforts to keep his memory alive? Sometimes, all it takes is one overlooked detail or someone finally feeling safe enough to come forward. I hope his family can soon find some form of peace or justice. My thoughts are with them.
