Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about how Devonte Bone's family must have felt hearing about the plea deal and sentencing of Demetrius Childs. Only five years for taking someone's life? It seems so short when you consider the permanent loss the Bone family is dealing with. I can't begin to imagine the emotions they must have gone through hearing that in court. The balance between legal proceedings and justice is so tricky, especially with past grievances like the ones mentioned in 2011. Does anyone here have insights on how such plea deals are typically perceived by families who are left behind, or perhaps firsthand experiences? I'm hoping and praying that the Bone family finds a path to healing somehow.
