I can't stop thinking about how terrible this situation is. Nicholas Lewis was only 23 and had so much life ahead of him. It's so hard to wrap my head around the fact that someone so young and loved by many is gone. From what I understand, the impact of his loss was deeply felt at the funeral service. It’s evident he was loved dearly by his community.
Reading about the arrest of Tommie McCall brings up so many mixed feelings. While it's a relief to hear that someone is being held accountable, it must be incredibly painful for both Nicholas's and Shanika's families. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through right now.
This case just highlights how dire the gun violence situation has become in Montgomery. I truly hope that this tragedy sparks some real change and commitment to finding solutions.
