I’ve been following the Stephen Hamby case, and what I find so troubling is the way a seemingly ordinary night spiraled into such a devastating event. It feels like just another reminder of how quickly things can change in the heat of the moment. From what I've understood, this wasn't a planned attack, but rather a tragic result of tempers flaring. Seeing how the investigation unfolded, it’s clear that there were many layers to peel back. I think about his friends and family a lot—they must be living with so many unanswered questions. From a community standpoint, it seems many locals feel something needs to change to prevent these types of confrontations. It’s really sad that it took Stephen’s death, and others like it, to bring this conversation to the forefront in Montgomery. I’m curious if anyone here has thoughts on what could be done to address the underlying issues, beyond just law enforcement. Rest in peace to Stephen.
