I can’t stop thinking about the ripple effects this kind of violence creates in our communities. It's deeply disturbing to know that a simple card game could end up costing two people their lives and injuring others. It just shows how quickly things can turn when weapons are involved. Honestly, my thoughts are with the families of Carlos Cunningham and Willecious Moffett. Losing a loved one is never easy, and it’s even harder when it happens in such a tragic and unexpected way. I attended one of the vigils, and it was so moving to see how many people came together to honor their memories. There was this overwhelming sense of loss, but also a quiet resilience among those who knew them. When will we learn that disputes—no matter how heated—aren’t worth this kind of violence? Hoping better days are ahead for the affected families and the whole community.
