I’ve been following David Osborn’s case closely and something that stands out to me is the fact that he didn’t rent a vehicle during his stay in Maui. Hāna is pretty remote, and getting around on foot can be tough without some form of transport. It just makes me wonder what his plans might’ve been for the evening before he vanished. Did he intend to explore the area a bit on foot? Was he planning to meet someone who could have offered him a ride somewhere? Since his personal belongings were left behind, it feels like he might have intended to come back to his rental. Has anyone on the ground there noticed if he was seen talking to any locals or other tourists? I’m curious if there were any reported sightings or interactions before he went missing. It just feels like a piece of the puzzle could be in who he might’ve encountered that night.
Hey everyone, I've been following David Osborn's case and wanted to discuss a curious detail. It's been puzzling me how David didn't have a rental car while in Maui. If someone like David arrives on the island, specifically in a remote area like Hāna, wouldn't having a vehicle be pretty essential for getting around, especially since public transportation options are scarce there? Considering he was on foot, maybe he was more familiar with the area or had alternate plans for getting around. Has anyone come across details that might suggest where he might have been heading on foot that night and if anyone in the area might have seen him walking? It's been over a year, and this lack of transportation angle is something I keep coming back to. Thoughts?
