Brian Curtis Scott, 21, was shot and killed on the morning of January 2, 2011, at about 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of 13th Place and Congress Street SE in Southeast Washington, D.C. He had been at the corner to pick up his cousin, Tavon Bell, when an SUV reportedly pulled up and someone inside opened fire on both of them; Scott was fatally wounded and his cousin survived.

A resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Scott graduated from Crossland Senior High School in 2008 and was the father of a young daughter, Ailea. His mother, Bonnie Scott, said he had worked on his faith and was pursuing a GED; the family remembered him as a loving father and son. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch investigated but said they lacked the evidence to arrest anyone and that witnesses were not cooperating. As of late 2011 no suspects had been publicly named.

Does anyone who knew Brian or who was in that neighborhood that morning have information that could help the investigation?
