I've been digging a bit into Amber Rae Sage's case, and something that keeps sticking out to me is the yellow cab she was last seen getting into. Does anyone know if law enforcement ever managed to track down the cab driver or find out anything more about the cab itself? It's 1996 we're talking about, so GPS tracking wasn’t in common use, but I’d hope someone might remember seeing it or recall something unusual about that day. The fact that there's such a lack of follow-up information on this leaves a huge gap in our understanding of what might have happened to her. I’m just speculating here, but if anyone has more insight or ideas, please share. It’s just so frustrating to think that such a crucial piece of the puzzle might have gone unexamined.
Does anyone have any info on whether Amber's tattoos were ever featured in any missing person outreach? I'm just thinking it might be an angle that's not been explored much in the forums I've seen. Tattoos can tell a story or even be a talking point if someone recalls seeing them. Given that her chain tattoos are pretty distinctive, maybe someone out there noticed and didn’t realize it connected to a missing persons case. I've checked some of the sites that photograph unidentified persons and tattoo databases, but I haven’t seen any mention. If anyone comes across anything, it might be worth bringing it to the LAPD’s attention or checking with tattoo artists who were active in LA back in the ‘90s.
