In the predawn hours of December 22, 2013, gunfire erupted on the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue NE in Washington, D.C. Officers from the Fifth District arrived around 4:13 a.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds. Michael Davis, 24 and a Northeast D.C. resident, was critically injured and later pronounced dead after being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. A second victim survived with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch opened an investigation but the details of what led to the shooting were unclear in the immediate aftermath. The department offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction, and as of the last update no arrests or suspects have been publicly identified. If anyone has information about that night or knew Michael Davis, please share what you know with investigators.
