Hey everyone, I've been thinking about the impact that memorials have in cases like Delonte "Scooter" Jackson’s. It's truly moving to see entire communities come together to remember someone who was so loved and respected. In the neighborhood where he was killed, there’s a beautiful memorial that reminds us not just of the senseless violence but of the warmth and spirit Scooter brought into the lives of those around him. These memorials are a powerful testament to how Scooter was cherished by his friends and family. They also serve a significant purpose, highlighting the ongoing issue of gun violence in D.C. It's a quiet, yet powerful plea for change and justice—not just for Scooter but for the many others affected by violence. It’s crucial that we continue to support these communities and keep these stories at the forefront. For those living in the area or passing through, stopping by this memorial feels like a small, but impactful way to pay your respects and support a grieving community. I hope we can continue to share any leads or information with the authorities, so that one day, there can be some closure for Scooter's loved ones. Stay safe, everyone, and let's keep advocating for justice and change. -Rae
