On a Friday evening in March 2014, tragedy struck in Southeast Washington, D.C., forever altering the lives of one family. On March 14th, police responded to a report of a shooting in the unit block of 46th Street, Southeast. Arriving at the scene, they discovered a man inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was identified as 30-year-old Delonte Jackson, a resident of Southeast D.C. known to some as 'Scooter.'
