Has anyone else been struck by how the community has rallied around Lakin Keanna Smith’s family? I’ve seen so many stories online about the outpouring of support from Selma residents, and it's truly inspiring to see people come together in the aftermath of such a tragedy. The GoFundMe campaign mentioned in some news articles is one example, but I’ve also read about local businesses organizing fundraisers and neighbors offering assistance to Lakin's loved ones. It's moments like these that remind us of the power and compassion within a community. While nothing can replace the loss of a loved one, knowing there's a whole community standing by to offer love and support must mean a lot to those who are grieving. It's heartening to see such a positive response in response to something so devastating. Would love to hear more about any other community efforts taking place, if anyone's aware!

I was thinking about Lakin's funeral and how overwhelming it must have been for her family and friends. A packed gymnasium, full of people all trying to come to terms with her loss, just shows how much she was loved. It's incredible to see a community come together like that, even though I wish it hadn't been under such tragic circumstances. The GoFundMe campaign was another testament to the love and support surrounding Lakin’s family. It's comforting to know they have that backing, but it can't replace what they've lost. I'm sending all my thoughts to everyone affected. This is such a hard time for the Selma community.
