I’ve always found it puzzling how Richard Keppi's disappearance didn't have more media coverage, especially given the dramatic circumstances. Santa Barbara City College isn’t a massive school, so young student vanishing in such a public way should have drawn more eyes, right? I remember hearing a lot about the initial search efforts but after a couple of weeks, it seemed like updates dropped off the map. Do any locals remember if there were any community-led search initiatives? It’s often the case that when official searches wind down, the community rallies to keep efforts alive. Just thinking it might be worth digging up if any local archives or old news stories mentioned anything like that; sometimes community involvement can keep hope alive in these cases.
