On the evening of Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a 17-year-old male named Phillip Jones was shot and killed in the 3100 block of Randall Place in Southeast Washington, D.C. Emergency services responded but Jones succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation and asked the public for information in the days after the shooting.

Police continue to appeal to the community for any details that could help bring closure to the family of the teenager.
