Quemonte Marcell Leonard, a 28-year-old African American male from Cleveland, OH, tragically lost his life on July 8, 2022. Leonard was well-known in his community as a successful entrepreneur who owned Mr. Reliable Auto LLC, a business that expanded from a licensed car dealership to a salvage yard and luxury car rental services. He was also a proud father to his daughter, Aubrianna Leonard, and was deeply involved in his family and community.
Leonard's death was the result of a home invasion. On the day of the incident, Sirtruce Bender-Adams, along with an accomplice, Edward Harris, forcibly entered Leonard's home on Wendy Drive and Kares Avenue in Cleveland. Bender-Adams shot Leonard multiple times during the invasion, and Leonard was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Harris was arrested on July 28, 2022, while Bender-Adams was found guilty of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, burglary, felonious assault, and having weapons under disability.
In October 2022, a jury found Bender-Adams guilty of the murder of Quemonte Leonard. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison in January 2023. The case highlighted the severe consequences of home invasions and the importance of community safety measures.
Leonard's legacy lives on through his family, friends, and the impact he made on his community. His untimely death has left a significant void, and those who knew him continue to mourn his loss and remember his contributions to the community.
