Just found out about the vigil held last week for Jimontae Rivers, and it was honestly moving to see how many people showed up to honor him. It’s a testament to how much he meant to the community and how deeply his loss is felt. I can't begin to imagine the pain his family and friends are going through. It seems like they’re not just mourning a son, a brother, or a friend, but also a larger issue that’s been plaguing our city. The amount of gun violence lately is terrifying, and it worries me that this keeps happening. I really hope there are changes soon, so others don’t have to mourn like Jimontae’s loved ones are now. Has anyone noticed an increase in community outreach programs lately aimed at reducing violence, or is it just me? Would love to hear your thoughts on how we can come together to support one another.
