Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact gun violence is having on small communities like Selma, especially after what happened to DonShon McCants. He isn’t just another statistic; he was a son, a friend, and from what I've read, a really loved member of the community. It must be so difficult for his family to find any sort of closure when there are still no answers as to who did this.
Do we know if there have been any recent community meetings or initiatives aimed at addressing this increasing violence? It feels like something needs to change so that people can feel safe again and so that families like DonShon's don't have to suffer such an unimaginable loss.
My heart goes out to everyone touched by his death. I hope someone with information finds the courage to come forward, so justice can be served. If anyone knows about efforts or projects that require community support, please share them here. I’m sure there are many who want to help prevent another tragedy like this.
Stay safe, everyone.
I’ve been following the McCants case with a heavy heart, and what keeps gnawing at me is the location of the shooting. Philpot Avenue is not typically known for violent incidents, from what I’ve gathered. Does anyone have insight into whether there were any ongoing issues or disputes in that area? It’s puzzling to think of someone like DonShon, who by all accounts wasn’t involved in trouble, being shot in a place that’s usually considered relatively safe. My thoughts are always with his family and friends as they seek justice and peace. If anyone knows anything, please step up; even the smallest detail could help.
