I’ve been following the tragedy that occurred in Anchorage with the Young-Gonzalez family, and I can’t stop thinking about the impact this must have on Desiree's father. Discovering the scene himself must have been unbelievably traumatic. I hope he’s getting the support he needs to process this horrific loss. This situation makes me think about how crucial it is for friends and family to recognize the warning signs of domestic violence and to intervene when they can. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this devastating loss. It’s another reminder of just how important it is to have community resources and support systems for those who might be in similar situations.
