It's been almost half a year since the shooting at the Birmingham nightclub, and the loss of Angela Weatherspoon and the others still weighs heavily on the community. I wanted to talk about Angela because reading about her really stuck with me. It sounds like she brought so much light into the lives of those around her. I think her funeral turnout at Boutwell speaks volumes about the impact she had.
What's really frustrating is that there have been zero arrests so far. I mean, it's hard to wrap your head around how something like this could happen at a birthday celebration and then for the responsible to just vanish. The thought of the families not having any closure is just beyond upsetting.
I wonder if there’s a way we can collectively push for more attention on this case. It feels like there should be more public pressure. Maybe more awareness could lead to someone speaking up. Birmingham struggles with these issues too often, and we can’t let these lives be remembered as just another statistic. Hoping that justice finds its way soon.

It’s so hard to imagine the pain her family and friends must be going through, especially knowing how suddenly they lost someone so dear. I hope they find some comfort and strength in the love and support of their community.

While we wait for justice, it's important to keep their spirits in our thoughts. The outpouring of love at her funeral, held at Boutwell Auditorium, must have been quite powerful, truly a testament to the impact she had. It's a call for us all to be more vigilant and active in supporting measures that aim to curtail violence in our communities. If anyone knows anything about what happened that night, please step up. Angela and the others deserve justice, and her family, some peace.
