Does anyone else feel deeply disturbed by the way these situations are often ruled as justifiable? I can't stop thinking about the female bystander who was caught in the middle of this shootout. It’s a miracle she survived, but the fact that she was injured at all in a situation she had no part of is just scary. I understand the legalities of self-defense and how this was classified, but how do we reconcile that with the safety of innocent people just trying to go about their daily lives? My thoughts are with her and anyone who might have known her. It's such a daunting reminder of how quickly things can turn violent and affect lives beyond those directly involved.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the poor bystander who got caught up in the chaos at Carson Crest. It must’ve been terrifying to suddenly find herself in the middle of such a dangerous situation. I'm relieved to hear her injuries weren't life-threatening, but trauma like that doesn’t just heal with stitches. I hope she's getting all the support she needs to process what happened. It’s so unsettling knowing that folks getting caught in the crossfire can happen to anyone, anytime. Sending strength to her and everyone touched by this tragedy.
