I just came across some info about the tragic case of Derek Jason Wright. It really got me thinking about public safety on our streets. From what I understand, Derek was riding his bicycle when he was tragically shot. It's unnerving to think someone can't even bike through their neighborhood without fearing for their life. This attack seems so deliberate, and it's unsettling to know the suspects are still out there. Birmingham has seen way too many similar cases this year. It's like the community is in a constant state of grief, and yet it keeps happening. I can't imagine the pain Derek's family is going through right now, and it's especially tough because they don't have a sense of closure with the perpetrators still on the loose. I hope anyone who might have seen something comes forward with information. The police really need all the help they can get to make sure justice is served. My heart goes out to all who knew Derek. Stay safe, everyone.
