I’ve been following the heartbreaking case of Anterrius Deonte Hill, and something that really stands out to me is the safety around firearms. This devastating incident is a painful reminder of how crucial it is to keep guns secured. I understand the tragedy can't be undone, but I hope this will drive more conversations about gun safety in our communities. It’s profoundly sad to think of a young life cut short in what should have been the safety of his own home. Being so close to the start of his teenage years, Anterrius had so much potential, especially with his talents on the basketball court. It's hard not to think about what could have been if things were different. My thoughts go out to his family and friends, as well as the students and staff at Erwin Middle School. It’s reassuring to hear that extra support was offered there – it’s needed now more than ever. Let’s push for more awareness and keep discussions open about preventing such unnecessary losses. Hug your loved ones tight tonight.

I wanted to highlight how truly resilient and close-knit the community has been in the aftermath of Anterrius's tragic passing. It’s clear that his family, friends, and the whole school have been through an unimaginable ordeal, yet they’re showing an incredible strength. The way the school has come together to support grieving students is really commendable. It speaks volumes about the sense of solidarity and care amongst them. It's so sad to see the profound impact his loss has had, not just on those who knew him, but on the whole area. Anterrius's talent on the basketball court and his positive presence are genuinely missed, and it’s comforting to see his memory being honored in so many heartfelt ways. Does anyone else have any stories or memories about him that they'd like to share? I think keeping his spirit alive through our recollections might provide some solace and help us all heal together.
