Hi everyone. I've been following the Burt case closely and something that's been on my mind is the role of welfare checks in these situations. It makes me wonder how many times family and loved ones have a gut feeling that something's wrong before any formal investigation starts. In this case, it's heartbreaking that Cynthia and little Desmond were discovered only after concerned relatives sounded the alarm. It seems like a critical tool for communities, but I wonder how many lives could potentially be saved if there were more awareness around it, or if it was easier for people to know when and how to request these checks. Does anyone have thoughts on how to improve this process? My heart goes out to the Burt family and the community as they navigate this tragedy.
