I’ve been following the case of Danija Mitchell and Xavier Alexander, and one thing that really struck me is the situation with their son, Deuce. It's impossible to imagine what he's going through, not just having lost both parents but now being separated from his family. My heart truly goes out to Carol Kanzig as she tries to navigate the bureaucracy to see her grandson. The fact that they recently moved after losing their home to Hurricane Ida is just another layer to this tragedy. It makes you wonder how much one family can endure. I hope the investigation progresses swiftly so that some form of peace and resolution can be found for all involved, especially for little Deuce. Does anyone have experience with similar legal situations regarding child custody after something so tragic?
Hey everyone,
I just can't stop thinking about that poor little boy, Deuce, caught up in this unimaginable tragedy. It’s so sad to know he lost both his parents in such a violent way and now is separated from his family. I can't imagine how confusing and scary this must be for him. It’s like a deep scar before he's even old enough to understand any of it.
I get that DHR has to follow procedures, but isn’t there a way to expedite things for cases like this? It just doesn’t sit right with me that he’s away from his family when they could offer him the love and support he needs right now. Does anyone know if there have been cases where family reunification happened sooner rather than later in similar situations?
I hope that the investigation moves quickly and brings some clarity and justice, not just for Danija and Xavier, but also to help bring little Deuce back to his grandma, Carol. It’s hard to see families go through such added grief on top of what's already unbearable. Thoughts and prayers are with them.
I’ve been following the case of Danija Mitchell and Xavier Alexander, and I can’t stop thinking about their little boy, Deuce. It’s just so devastating to imagine what that little guy must have gone through and how confusing this all must be for him. What’s even more distressing is how Danija’s mom, Carol, is facing so many hurdles in trying to see her grandson. I can’t help but think about how crucial family support is for his healing right now, especially after losing his parents so suddenly.
It makes me wonder how the system can be so difficult to navigate during such fragile times. You’d think there would be some sort of expedited process to at least allow natural relatives a chance to visit or check on their wellbeing, especially when young children are involved. My heart goes out to Carol and her struggle to stay connected with Deuce. I genuinely hope she finds a way to be there for him soon. Anyone know if there are support groups or legal aid that could help her gain access or stay informed about his situation?
