I’ve been following the tragic series of events in Bessemer on March 21, 2020, and feel compelled to comment on the second shooting that night. It’s deeply unsettling to think that two young men, including 21-year-old Jason Mendiola, lost their lives behind a residence on Bell Street. From what I’ve read, it seems there was an altercation that escalated, leading to this devastating outcome. I can’t help but wonder what led to such a heated confrontation – what was the tipping point that resulted in such a terrible loss? I’m hoping more details will emerge, and justice will be served for these young men and their grieving families. Sending strength and support to everyone affected as the investigation continues. If anyone on here has local insight or thoughts, please share.
