Has anyone else taken a deep dive into the timeline of events surrounding Octavia Dortch's tragic death? I find it so unsettling that her life was cut short so suddenly and randomly. It’s bizarre to think the ShotSpotter tech detected the gunfire and led police right to her, yet no immediate context could be pieced together at the scene. It makes me wonder how communities feel about these technologies. Do they provide comfort in urgent situations, or does it feel invasive? I can’t imagine how her family felt seeing this unfold so unexpectedly, and my heart goes out to them. I hope they find some peace in knowing there have been major strides in the investigation, especially with the surveillance footage being a game-changer. It's just all so difficult to wrap your head around when you think about these senseless acts of violence happening out of the blue.
