It’s deeply troubling to hear about Quinton Ashaad Few’s tragic death at Bibb County Correctional Facility. While it’s important to remember that he was serving time for a crime, no one should face such a violent end, especially in a place meant for rehabilitation. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who must be dealing with an unimaginable loss. The situation at Alabama’s prisons seems dire. The fact that these incidents are happening within days of each other speaks volumes about the conditions inside. How can we expect prisons to reform individuals when they're not safe environments? It makes me wonder about the policies in place and whether the authorities are doing enough to prevent these incidents. With resources stretched thin, and overcrowding, I wonder what immediate actions can be taken. What do you think might be a viable solution? More guards, more funding, or potentially reducing the prison population through alternative sentencing for non-violent offenses? It feels like something needs to change before more lives are lost.
