I keep thinking about Rakel Mason's case; it's been over five years, and it’s hard to believe there are no solid leads yet. It feels like Virginia Beach has too many stories like this lingering in our minds. I didn’t know Rakel personally, but I know some folks around here did, and it hits close to home seeing a community stuck in unanswered questions. It’s unsettling that despite a “quadruple shooting” making headlines, there still haven’t been any arrests. How does that even happen? Are there updates or something we might be missing? My heart goes out to Rakel’s family and all those affected who just want some justice and closure. Keeping hope alive that the Cold Case Unit will get what they need to close this case and finally give Rakel’s loved ones peace. If anyone out there knows anything, anything at all, please come forward—even a small tip might be what breaks this thing wide open. Rakel and his family deserve better.
