Hey everyone,
I've been reading about Richard "Dan" Edmonson's tragic murder back in 1983, and one detail I can't get out of my mind is the location where his body was found. It's haunting to think that his life ended in such an unexpected spot, just off John Peace Boulevard near Loop 1604. For those familiar with the San Antonio area, it's not exactly a place you'd expect a crime scene to unfold.
I'm curious if anyone knows whether this area had any specific significance back in the '80s—maybe it's changed a lot since then? From what I've gathered, it doesn't seem like a random choice for whoever left him there. If anyone has insights into what the surroundings were like during that time or if there were known activities in the area, it could add another layer to understanding why he was found there.
Thinking of his family and hoping that renewed attention on his case can finally bring some answers.
Thanks for reading.
Does anyone else find it odd that Dan Edmonson's case didn't spark more public interest back in the day? I mean, he was a father to six kids, and the youngest was only nine at the time. That family was left with so many questions and no answers for decades. It's baffling to think that someone could have information that might help and yet have stayed silent all these years. Even the smallest clue could mean the world to those kids, now all grown up. It makes me hope that with the renewed focus from SAPD's Cold Case Squad, someone might finally come forward. Maybe there's a witness who didn’t realize what they saw was important or has been too scared to speak up. Perhaps new advances in forensics could shed light on the evidence they have. Sending love to his family—here’s hoping for answers and justice.
I recently came across the case of Richard "Dan" Edmonson, and I just can't stop thinking about his family, especially his kids, who had to grow up without their dad. It strikes me how much time has passed since that night in 1983, and yet, the pain of not knowing who is responsible is still very real for them. They were so young back then, with the youngest being just nine years old.
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the possibility of new forensic techniques helping with this case. Given how technology has advanced, it seems like there's potential for breakthroughs, especially with evidence that might have been overlooked or not possible to analyze back then. It must be incredibly difficult for the family to have waited this long, hoping for some answers.
Has anyone here ever seen a case get solved after so many years thanks to new technology or public tips? It would be great to get some insights or even words of encouragement for the Edmonson family. Maybe someday soon, they'll get the justice and closure they deserve.
