Hey everyone,
I recently came across the tragic story of Jamil Melvay Penix, and I can't stop thinking about the role that community safety plays in incidents like this. It's so devastating to hear about a young person, full of potential and dreams, gunned down while just working on a music video.
It makes me wonder about the Kings Row Apartments and whether any improvements have been made to security measures since this happened in 2016. From what I've read, it seems like the area had a history of violence, which makes me think there should have been more proactive steps taken to ensure residents' and visitors' safety.
Does anyone know if there have been any changes or security updates in the complex or surrounding area? It feels like preventing another tragedy like Jamil's should be a priority. My heart goes out to his family and friends. He deserved to feel safe and achieve his aspirations without fear. I hope justice is served and that his story calls attention to the need for better safety protocols in such areas.
