I came across the case of Karen Sue Hurst while browsing old newspaper articles, and something stood out to me: her personal items were found in a mailbox a year after she disappeared. Specifically, her ID was found miles away from where she was last seen. Isn't that a bit odd? Who would go through the trouble of relocating someone's identification without a trace of Karen herself? It makes me wonder if someone was trying to send a message or if it could have simply been moved around by someone unaware of its significance. Considering that there were no significant leads from this discovery, it seems like such a missed opportunity for the investigation. Did anyone in the area see something unusual around that time? Or maybe someone has a theory on how her ID ended up there? I recognize it's been years, but sometimes small details can bring big breakthroughs to cold cases. Would love to hear thoughts or if anyone has seen similar instances in other cases.
