Does anyone else find it odd how quickly the initial investigation wrote Cathy off as a runaway? I get that it was the '70s, but she was just running errands for a dance, and it doesn't seem like she had any reason to leave on her own. I can't shake the feeling that valuable time was lost because of this assumption. It seems like such a tragic oversight that might have changed the course of the investigation. With Cathy being seen with two older boys and never being spotted again after that, you have to wonder what might have been different if the situation was treated with more urgency from the start. Anyone have thoughts on how police responses like this have evolved over the decades?

Hey everyone, I'm diving deep into Cathy Moulton's disappearance and can't help but wonder about that sighting on the Tobique First Nation Reserve. It feels like such a crucial lead that sadly didn't go anywhere. Does anyone have more details or theories on how Cathy might have ended up there? I read that she was seen possibly being with those older boys, but there’s such a gap in the timeline. Has anyone heard anything about investigations or community efforts in that area during the early '70s? Any locals here with family stories or insights from back then? I just feel like this aspect of the case might hold some key info, and it frustrates me that it fizzled out. Would love thoughts or any new info!
