Has anyone else looked into the potential links between Anthony Steven Balthazar's disappearance and other missing persons cases in Santa Cruz from that era? I’ve been diving into some old records and noticed there were a few other similar cases around the late 70s and early 80s. It's interesting, to say the least. Given that Anthony was battling schizophrenia and disappeared from a mental health facility, I can't help but wonder if there might have been a common thread with others who vanished under similar circumstances. Could it have been an opportunist preying on vulnerable individuals or perhaps something systemic that was overlooked? Just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has thoughts or has found anything similar. Any insight would be appreciated!

I'm curious if anyone has looked into Anthony Steven Balthazar’s social connections around the time he went missing. Sometimes, those seemingly minor friendships or acquaintances can hold valuable clues. People around him might have noticed changes or received unexpected messages from him before he disappeared. If anyone has access to old directories or community records from Santa Cruz in 1980, it could be a start to digging into this. It's easy for someone to slip under the radar, especially if they kept a low profile, but maybe Steve had a regular spot he liked visiting or folks he interacted with outside the mental health facility. Even after all this time, someone might remember something or have kept a letter or note from him. Every little bit helps!

Hey all, I’ve been diving into the Anthony Steven Balthazar case. Has anyone else been struck by how little information there seems to be about what happened after he left the facility? Given the struggles he was facing with schizophrenia, I wonder if there are any records or witnesses from that day who could add more pieces to the puzzle. Mental health back then didn't always get the understanding it needed. It makes me think there could be folks who saw him or interacted with him but had no idea who they were dealing with. Every little detail counts, right? Would love to hear if anyone's got thoughts on potential leads or any similar cases.
