Does anyone remember the case of Kimberly Sue Doss? I was revisiting some old files and came across something puzzling about the so-called friend "Debbie" from Ridgeview, Iowa. None of Kimberly's other friends or relatives seemed to know her. It's odd that someone so central to her story comes up as a complete mystery. This is just speculation, but could "Debbie" have been someone using a fake name or potentially involved in something shady? It seems strange that Kimberly would mention staying with someone none of her nearest and dearest had ever heard of. Has anyone looked into records from that area or considered if "Debbie" might have been involved in whatever happened? Or is it possible that someone coerced Kimberly to use this name to mislead anyone trying to trace where she was? Just thinking out loud here. Would love to hear if anyone has thoughts or additional info on this angle.

Debbie has never been identified, nor has any evidence been found that indicates Kimberly went to Ridgeview or stayed with Debbie. According to a statement made to Law Enforcement in early 1990 Kimberly and Dallas did not have a fight, and it appears that Kim had every intention of returning to his house before leaving to go to Houston. A new investion was opened in June of 2024 which has concluded there is no evidence of activity from Kim after she spoke to her mom. She has had no footprint of any kind outside of Davenport in March of 1980.

I came across an interesting angle while researching Kimberly Sue Doss's disappearance. Did anyone else notice the timing of Kimberly's argument with her boyfriend and her sudden decision to call him from a friend’s place in Ridgeview? The guy's family never confirmed knowing this “Debbie” person, which is super strange to me. How did she reach out to this unknown person so quickly after a fight? It seems odd to leave and contact a mystery friend right after an argument.
I'm starting to wonder if “Debbie” might actually be a made-up name. Could Kimberly have used it to throw off suspicion or cover up where she really went? Or maybe someone else used it to control the narrative? Has anyone else dug into people living in or around Ridgeview at the time who might match that name or who might have connections to Kimberly? The timing and the secrecy around this "friend" seem like they could be a piece of the puzzle we're missing. Thoughts?
