I was digging through some old case files and noticed something interesting about Erna Martin's disappearance. Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions in Granite Bay on February 12, 1988? I found that the weather was particularly cold and rainy that day. Given that Erna left without extra clothing and was last seen in a ski jacket and sneakers, could it have been possible she sought shelter somewhere and couldn’t get back out? Maybe an abandoned building or a storm drain? It sounds like a long shot, but if she had been struggling that day, both mentally and physically, she might have ended up in a place where she got trapped or disoriented. Does anyone who lived in the area then remember any well-known spots where someone could get lost or stuck? I think it’s worth asking locals who were around at the time. Every little detail could help.
I've been digging into Erna Martin's case and can't stop thinking about the possibility of her being somewhere off the beaten path in Granite Bay, due to her state of mind at the time. Anyone familiar with this area back in the late '80s? It sounds like there were quite a few undeveloped places back then. I wonder if she wandered off and somehow slipped through the cracks during the search? It'd make sense considering her struggles and mental state. Has anyone come across similar cases where the terrain played a big role in why someone wasn't found?
