Erna Martin, a 45-year-old woman, was last seen on February 12, 1988, in Granite Bay, California. At the time of her disappearance, Erna left her home on foot around 11:00 a.m., without any extra clothing. She was wearing a large light blue ski jacket, blue/green jeans, and white sneakers. Erna's family and authorities believe her struggle with alcoholism and possible marital issues may have contributed to her disappearance.
Despite an extensive search, no trace of Erna has ever been found. There has been no activity on her Social Security number since the day she went missing, raising concerns that something serious may have occurred. Her husband, who reported her missing, expressed worry that she might have been in an alcoholic coma somewhere. The case has remained unsolved, and there have been few leads over the years.
Erna is described as being 5'8" tall, weighing 115 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore glasses and had no known distinguishing marks beyond her appearance at the time of her disappearance. The Placer County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate this cold case, and they urge anyone with information to come forward.
