Ana Maria Rodriguez, aged 34, went missing on June 29, 1999, after attending her father's funeral in Mexico. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she traveled to Tijuana for the service. When trying to return to the United States, Ana, a non-U.S. citizen, was denied re-entry. In an attempt to return home, her husband sent money to a "coyote" (human smuggler) to help her cross the border, but she never made it back. After this, all communication with her ceased, and she has not been heard from since.

Ana was last seen in Tijuana, Baja California, wearing black pants and a white shirt. She was 5'1", weighed 130 pounds, and had black hair and brown eyes. Despite investigations by the Los Angeles Police Department and other agencies, no significant clues have surfaced regarding her whereabouts. Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information about her case to come forward.
