I recently stumbled across the disappearance of Frederick Cook from Grand Island back in 1990, and something curious caught my attention. Has anyone explored the idea that maybe something was wrong with the landfill itself? Like, perhaps there was an unsafe area or a faulty structure that could have led to an accident? I read that his vehicle was still there, so it seems unlikely he left the premises. I wonder if there have been any checks or investigations into the landfill conditions at the time. Just a thought—could provide some insight into what might have happened to him. Would love to hear what others think about this angle.

Does anyone else find it strange that Frederick Cook's vehicle was left behind at the landfill? It's almost like he never planned to leave the area by his own means. I read that he had a pacemaker, so a medical emergency could have happened, but you would expect to find something—anything—in the vicinity. The fact that they searched the landfill and the fields for months and came up with nothing is baffling to me. Could he have gone somewhere completely unexpected on foot, or did he run into someone who might have given him a ride? Either way, it's odd that not a single piece of evidence has surfaced after all these years. Any thoughts?
