Jessie Kay Peters was 14 when she was last seen in Glendora, California, on March 29, 1996. She was 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 110 to 118 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes and wearing braces at the time she vanished. The case began as a possible runaway but was later treated as a disappearance involving foul play.
Investigators later focused on Michael Thornton, the mother’s employer, and his partner Janeen Snyder. Both were convicted in connection with the 2001 murder of a 16-year-old in Nevada, and during their trial Snyder reportedly implicated Jessie, saying Jessie had been drowned and her body disposed of in the Pacific Ocean. Neither Thornton nor Snyder has been charged in Jessie’s disappearance and Jessie’s remains have never been recovered. The case remains open and she is still listed as missing.
Anyone with information about Jessie’s disappearance is asked to contact the Glendora Police Department.
