I was just thinking about Dean E. Dawson's case from '96, and something's been bugging me about the sightings on those bridges. Both were pretty close to water, right? I'm no expert, but it seems weird to me that he'd be near those spots so soon after leaving his friend's house. I mean, if he was looking for alcohol, wouldn't it make more sense for him to go to a store or bar instead?
Also, I've been wondering about his mental state at that time. Living a semi-transient lifestyle, having gone through a separation, plus battling alcoholism... it must've been tough. Could he have been in a state where he was just wandering without a clear purpose? I guess those bridges might just've been on his route, but the fact they lead to nowhere obvious raises questions for me.
Would love to hear thoughts from anyone local to Martville or Oswego back then—were those bridges places where something could happen unnoticed, especially at that hour?
