Has anyone else looked into the details regarding the search in Lake County? I find it puzzling that they searched for three days but didn’t find anything. Given the time gap between the disappearance in 1998 and the search in 2003, it seems likely that any remains or evidence could have been disturbed. Also, why would Slayton direct them to a specific location unless she believed there was something to find or knew more than she was letting on? I wonder if there were other areas nearby that should've been searched or if anything might have been missed. It’s so frustrating when you think of how close they might have been to finally finding some answers. If anyone has insights or theories about the search area or if it ties back to any overlooked evidence, I'd love to hear them.
