Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the gun violence issue in Pittsburgh, especially in relation to the murder of Paris Wheatley. It's so concerning how only half of the 59 homicides in 2016 were solved. It makes me wonder about the resources and attention these cases are given, particularly those affecting Black communities. Paris's case is just one tragic example in a worrying pattern. It's troubling to think that there are families out there who might never get the answers they deserve. If anyone has insights into how things have progressed since then or what actions the community and authorities are taking, I would love to hear about it. We need to keep talking about these issues to push for change and bring some measure of justice for Paris and the many others affected.
Stay safe, all.
Does anyone else feel deeply concerned about the trend in the city's violence during 2016, specifically cases like Paris Wheatley's? It's incredibly frustrating how many families were left without answers that year. I can't help but think about what his family is going through, knowing there are still so many open-ended questions. The fact that only half of the homicide cases were solved is really disheartening. It makes you wonder if something more could be done to bring justice for Paris and others in similar situations. It’s crucial for community members to share any information they might have—whether it seems minor or not, it might just be the piece investigators need. My heart goes out to Paris's family and friends. They deserve closure and justice.
