Hi all, I've been thinking a lot about the potential suspect in the Thomas Patrick Ryan case. It's been decades but I can't shake the feeling that someone somewhere knows something. The description of the suspect driving Ryan's Monte Carlo is pretty specific - red hair, beard, relatively young at the time. I wonder how many people in the area back then fit that description. It's hard for me to imagine that they just vanished without a trace, especially in a pre-internet era when people were more rooted to their communities. This case gives me pause because it's a reminder that sometimes the simplest clues can be overlooked or forgotten. I really feel for Ryan's friends and family who have had to live without answers all these years. Let's keep hope alive that someone decides to come forward and help bring closure. ##ThomRyanCase #JusticeforThomas Stay safe everyone, M.

Hey everyone, I've been following the Thomas Ryan case for a while now, and something that's been sticking with me is the fact that his 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was found so far away in Washington State, across the Columbia River from Umatilla, Oregon. It's peculiar how the car got there and why it was abandoned. Was the suspect trying to make a run for it, or was there some sort of connection to that area? For those more familiar with the geography, is it common for people from Portland to end up near Umatilla? Are there any known hotspots or connections that authorities might be considering? It just feels so frustrating and surreal that after all these years, no one has come forward with information that could crack this case wide open. I truly feel for Thomas's family and friends and hope that one day, justice will finally be served. Any theories or insights on why the car was found where it was would be greatly appreciated. Let’s keep this discussion alive and hopefully bring some new light to this cold case.

Has anyone looked into the possibility of the suspect being a transient or hitchhiker? Given that Thomas Ryan’s car ended up quite a distance away in Washington, it's possible someone was just passing through and took advantage of stealing his car to continue their journey. Maybe they had no ties to Portland, which could be why leads haven’t panned out. The description seems fairly distinctive with the red hair and beard, so you would think someone out there must have seen something. I hope they find whoever did this, for the sake of Thomas’s loved ones. They deserve closure after all these years. If any locals on this forum have seen someone matching the description around that time, it might be helpful to check back in your memories or old notes.
