I keep thinking about that sighting at Rankin's Grocery on U.S. 521. Was the person Bennie was seen talking to ever identified? It feels strange that someone in the car wasn't pursued more thoroughly if they could be a key witness. I can't shake the idea that whoever was in that vehicle might know more than what they've let on or could help corroborate a timeline. Also, was the car's make or color ever noted by anyone else? Seems like there could be some crucial details we might be missing from that encounter. With no new suspects and so much time passed, focusing on that last sighting could help jog someone's memory. I'm hoping more information will surface for Bennie's family's sake.

I'm curious about the person Bennie was seen talking to in the car that evening at Rankin's Grocery. Does anyone have more info on who that might have been or if they were ever identified by the police? It seems like such a key detail that could potentially give clues on what happened that night. Without more information on this person or what the conversation was about, it feels like a big missing piece of the puzzle. Also, does anyone know if the car was parked there regularly, like maybe someone who was known in the area, or was it an unfamiliar vehicle? Anyone with some local insight from the Taylor's Grove area?

I was diving back into Bennie Crockett's case and something that sticks out to me is the location of his last sighting. Rankin's Grocery on U.S. 521 seems like such a public area. It's baffling to me that despite being seen talking to someone in a vehicle parked on a busy highway, there were no other witnesses who came forward with additional information. Was it too dark for people to notice, or did folks just not pay much attention back in those days? I wonder if there could have been more to the story, like whether he knew the person he was talking to. Does anyone recall if there were rumors or unknown connections Bennie might have had in the area? Maybe that's the missing puzzle piece. Thoughts?
