Did anyone else catch that bit about the fry in Frying Pan Shoals where Bill went missing? I've lived near the coast my whole life, and those waters are notorious for being unpredictable and dangerous, even for experienced boaters. I’m wondering how familiar he was with that specific area? From everything I read, Bill was an intelligent guy with a knack for business—odd that he’d take such a risk out there with the weather turning. Plus, a 12-foot canoe in that kind of storm sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. What do you all think? Did he underestimate the conditions, or is there a chance something else played a part in his disappearance? Just curious if anyone has local insight or knew him around that time.
