Does anyone know if there were any search efforts conducted in or around the area of Seymour Street back in '84? I was thinking about Josephine Chatraw’s case and how they never found her body. With the technology we have now, I wonder if they could revisit those locations with cadaver dogs or ground-penetrating radar. I know Whaley confessed, but you just can't shake the feeling that there might be something missed in the initial search. It’s been so long, and it’s hard to imagine for her family to have no closure. Could there be undiscovered evidence lingering somewhere close to home?
Has anyone else looked into the timeline discrepancies in Josephine Chatraw's case? I was reading through old reports, and something doesn't sit right with me about the dates. Josephine was reported missing on August 3, 1984, but she was last seen on July 29. That's a five-day gap! I know families sometimes take a bit to officially report someone missing, especially back then, but given the seriousness of everything with Whaley, I find it odd. Was it fear, or did they think she might have gone off for a bit to clear her head? I can't help but wonder if something important could have happened in those missing days that we don't know about. Thoughts?
I've been digging into the timeline surrounding Josephine Chatraw's disappearance, and something that really stands out to me is the reaction of Philip Whaley right after she went missing. It's curious how the neighbor reported that violent encounter but there wasn't an immediate search initiated. I mean, after seeing something like that, wouldn't more people have been on high alert? Just feels like there were possibly missed opportunities early on to gather crucial evidence or testimonies. Also, did any witnesses besides the neighbor ever come forward with more details from that night? It makes me wonder how much more could have been learned if there had been more urgency in those initial days... Thoughts?
