Has anyone else looked into the motorcycle angle in Douglas MacKenzie's case? The fact that he had ties to the biker scene in Kissimmee and disappeared under those circumstances makes me wonder how deep this dispute went. It’s a bit suspicious that the conflict reportedly involved a Harley-Davidson—those bikes are a big deal in biker culture. Maybe it’s nothing, but could there be more people involved who haven’t been looked into yet? I can’t help but think if there were others connected to Douglas, they might know more or be hiding something. It’s odd that MacKenzie's accounts were never touched, almost like he didn’t plan on going missing. ? Anyone else have thoughts on the biker connection?
Has anyone else noticed the strange connection between MacKenzie's case and the unsolved theft ring involving motorcycle parts in the mid-80s around Kissimmee? I remember reading about it in old newspaper archives when I was researching another case. It seems like a pretty big coincidence that MacKenzie was entrenched in the local biker scene, and there were these thefts happening at the same time. I wonder if he might have known more than was safe for him about those activities? It's odd that no one ever followed that lead, especially since Mooney's confession didn't seem to stick. Just thinking that revisiting those theft cases might shed some light on his disappearance. Curious if anyone else came across this angle?
