I've been reading about Melissa McGuinn's case, and one thing that's baffling is the inconsistent stories from Wanda Faye Reed. It's been over three decades, and I'm curious why there wasn’t more emphasis on finding any witnesses who might have seen Wanda walking with Melissa that day. Trenton isn't a tiny town, so someone might have noticed them. I wonder if there were any efforts to track down people in the area at the time, and if so, whether any potential witnesses came forward. It’s strange that we haven’t heard more about that aspect. Does anyone have insights into the investigation tactics back then or know if they re-interviewed folks after the case went cold?
