Has anyone else noticed how long it took for Parley Ann Pate's disappearance to be reported by her sister? I mean, a whole year went by before it became official. That seems like such a huge gap when every second counts in missing person cases. I’m curious if anyone knows more about her sister's situation at the time. Like, was there something going on that delayed the report? I just can't help but wonder if this impacted the investigation as much as it feels like it might have. Maybe someone local to Raleigh back then remembers something?
Has anyone else found it odd how long it took for Parley's disappearance to be reported? I understand her sister was living in Texas, but over a year seems unusually long, even given potential estrangement. Makes me wonder if there was something else going on behind the scenes—like maybe Parley had been in touch sporadically, leading her family to believe she was okay until they stopped hearing from her entirely. It makes me think there could be crucial information still missing that the family might not even be aware of. What do others think—does the delay in reporting change how you view the case?
I’ve been following Parley Ann Pate’s case with keen interest and recently revisited some news articles and discussion threads. What’s been sticking with me is the delay in reporting her disappearance. Her sister in Texas reported her missing over a year after Parley was last seen. It's so puzzling to me how much crucial time was lost during that period. Does anyone know if her sister shared why it took so long to file the report? It seems like that gap really set the investigation back from the start. I wonder if anyone in Raleigh noticed her absence and just didn't come forward at the time. Just thinking out loud and hoping maybe there’s someone out there with memories or overlooked details that might reopen this case.
